The German carmaker has decided to take advantage of the amazing feedback received by the recently announced S-Class and it looks like management has already approved the process of taking some of the advanced technology from the flagship to other models in the lineup.

And the first one to get all those goodies is the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift, Mercedes deciding not to wait for the new generation to come out (scheduled for 2016). According to statements from the company’s officials, the new E-Class sedan, coupe and convertible will all get some of the technologies from the S-Class, once they go on sale in early 2014.

One of the technologies “transplanted” from the S-Class is the latest version of the Distronic Plus system, capable of adjusting the steering and throttle/brake to keep the car on lane and at a safe distance from the car in front. The features list currently offered by the E-Class already includes radars and safety systems to prevent crashes, but more will be added, such as the Intelligent Drive technology, which spots pedestrians and stopped vehicles and is able to stop the car at speeds of up to 30 mph. Another optional feature that will make its way on the E-Class is the Pre-safe Plus system that is able to detect a pending impact from the rear and can stop the car to prevent a second crash with another car.
