Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept

The Audi A3 clubsport quattro concept is the German carmaker’s surprise for the famous annual Audi and Volkswagen fan meeting in Worthersee, Austria. The concept car is based on the S3 sedan powered by an upgraded version of the 2.5-liter TFSI engine that produces 525-hp. Thanks to that massive power output, the car has a power to weight ratio of 6.4 pounds (2.9 kg) per horsepower, which is not bad at all. The TFSI petrol unit has won four consecutive “International Engine of the Year” awards in its class and the version of the concept produces 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque, available between 2,300 and 6,000 rpm. This means the sports car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 192 mph (310 km/h).

In order to achieve these performances, the A3 clubsport quattro concept has been seriously modified by Audi’s engineers. First of all, the upgraded engine has a special ignition sequence (1-2-4-5-3) that gives the car a distinct sound and feel. Other upgrades include a larger turbocharger, new air intakes and an exhaust system that were designed to squeeze every drop of power from the TFSI engine, plus several lightweight body parts such as the CFRP hood. The concept is equipped with a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission that has a compact design and features an advanced launch control function.

Besides the A3 clubsport concept, Audi will also bring another concept, the Audi TT quattro sport that made its debut in Geneva and nine production models, which fans will be able to see, feel and find more about. These models are: A1 Sportback, S1, A3, S3 Cabriolet, RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupe, RS6 Avant, A6 2.0 TDI quattro, RSQ3, TT,TTS Coupe, SQ5 TDI ┼či R8 V10 Spyder.
