The British carmaker has some surprise ready for this autumn’s Paris Motor Show and one of them will be a more powerful version of their luxury limousine, called the Bentley Mulsanne Speed. Despite most people thought these were only rumors, it looks like it’s the real deal and Bentley is really working on a more sportier Mulsanne.
Once launched, the Bentley Mulsanne Speed will become the carmaker’s flagship and will probably follow the same exclusive “recipe” that includes top-class materials prepared in the Cheshire Centre of Excellence, plus a new engine that will get a 50-hp power boost compared to the one available right now. The current Mulsanne is powered by a 6.75-liter V8 that produces 505-hp at 4,200 rpm and 752 lb-ft (1,020 Nm) of torque at 1,750 rpm. There are no official performance specs available, but the 0 to 62 mph sprint should be made in around 5.1 seconds, while top speed will be over 180 mph (295 km/h).
That’s all the details we have so far about the model, but we’re only months away from seeing it live, with its world debut scheduled for the Paris Motor Show, which starts in the first week of October.
