BMW M235i xDrive

Towards the end of last week, the German car manufacturer announced an engine update for the 2-Series, 4-Series Convertible and 5-Series. Besides the new engines, BMW also announced the introduction of all-wheel drive for the 2-Series, the company’s smallest coupe. And what better member of the 2-Series family to get this than the M235i, the current top version. The M235i was already a really fun car, but with the xDrive we can only assume it will get even faster and, of course, safer.

The M235i xDrive keeps all the current specs, including the six-cylinder inline engine that produces 326-hp and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque and which is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission that provides excellent acceleration. Equipped with the xDrive system, the M235i is 0.2 seconds faster than the rear-wheel drive version, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds, BMW also announcing an estimated fuel economy of around 30 mpg (7.8 liters per 100 km) on the combined cycle.

According to the official press release, the new BMW M235i xDrive will be available in Europe in the following months, while its US debut is scheduled for next year.
