After several teasers and a short press release, BMW has finally released a full photo gallery of the Gran Lusso Coupe concept that has just made its debut this weekend and the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. The prototype is an ultra-luxurious interpretation of a BMW coupe, seen through the eyes of one of the best design companies in the world, Pininfarina.

The concept keeps all the BMW characteristics such as the long wheelbase, the bold engine hood and the distinct double grille. Basically, the entire front part was drawn around matte aluminum grille that has an extremely aggressive profile and it reminds of classic BMW models. The hood, which “covers” a V12 engine was also redesigned and the use of LED daytime running lights offers a modern look to the headlights. The car also features several front bumper ornaments and a set of Pininfarina badges, plus a set of 21-inch wheels that feature a five-spoke design and are finished in the same matte aluminum with black inserts as the front grille.

On the interior, the Gran Lusso Coupe features Pininfarina’s signature sports seats and a driver-oriented central console, but without any doubt the interior’s star is the Kauri wood which comes all the way from New Zealand’s swamps, having an estimated age of 48,000 years. All the wood elements used for the interior were made from a single Kauri wood piece, smoothed and varnished, which changes its color from golden to red or brown, depending on the light.

The leather used for the upholstery comes from the famous Fogliazzo factory in Italy and comes in Tobacco brown and black. Black inserts are also present and the roof has been customized with virgin Italian wool with the “Principe di Galles” pattern.
