The Jaguar F-Type is on its way of becoming a huge success for the British carmaker, the roadster managing to gather a waiting list as impressive as the Range Rover Evoque, for example. It looks like Jaguar achieved a perfect balance between pricing, features, looks and heritage, because the company has just announced that half of the 2013 production is already sold. This means that if you order an F-Type now, you’ll get your car in at least six months. This, of course, if you’re not talking about a special order, in which case waiting time is even longer.

According to Jaguar’s internal estimations, the roadster market has a global potential of 75,000 units per year, which is around 0.1 percent of the entire auto market. However, Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s Global Brand Director, says that F-Type’s sales volume is not that important from the financial point of view, but are extremely important to the brand’s image, more than 90% of F-Type customers buying a Jaguar for the first time.

The Jaguar F-Type comes with a range of engines delivering between 340 and 495-hp, all mated to an eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission. The F-Type S also comes with the Dynamic Launch function that further improves the acceleration.
