Jaguar XE Teaser

The British carmaker is getting ready to launch their latest product, the upcoming entry level Jaguar XE. The car is the successor of the Jaguar X-Type that was manufactured between 2001 and 2009 and the latest teaser image was recently posted on the carmaker’s official Facebook page. Even though the car is camouflaged, we can still get an good idea of what to expect from it. First of all, we notice the XF silhouette, with large side mirrors, narrow headlights and windows with coupe-style shape.

The information we have on this model so far announce an entirely new platform, the iQ (AI) platform which offers an increased structural resistance, a lower weight and a modular design which will allow Jaguar to create more models based on it. Also, the platform’s architecture allows a rear-mounted engine, all-wheel drive and can also be used for hybrid or electric powertrains.

As for the upcoming Jaguar XE, we already know it will be available with several four-cylinder inline units and also a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that will produce around 350-hp. The new Jaguar XE is expected to make world debut this autumn at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, with sales to probably start sometime next year.
