Land Rover Freelander Metropolis

The British carmaker announced the Metropolis special edition of the Land Rover Freelander, a premium version of the SUV whose production will end soon, making room for next year’s Discovery Sport. The new model will probably be a more luxurious one and is scheduled to make its debut this fall at the Paris Motor Show, with sales to start next year.

The Freelander Metropolis is based on the HSE Lux trim level and comes with several additional features that are meant to make the package even more attractive. “Windsor” leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats, panoramic glass roof, heated steering wheel, 19-inch alloy wheels and better carpets are some of the features that will be available as standard for the Metropolis. The package also includes several systems offered as standard, such as the high-end 825-watt Meridian sound system, xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights and touchscreen satellite navigation.

The carmaker also announced that besides the Metropolis special edition, the entire Freelander lineup will get revised, with the GS and XS trim levels being replaced by SE and SE Tech. In the UK, the Land Rover Freelander Metropolis will start at just below £40,000 ($67,000).
