Mercedes-Benz GLA Edition 1

It has already become a tradition for the German carmaker to celebrate the launch of a new model with a special edition called Edition 1 and the new Mercedes-Benz GLA is no exception. Customers will be able to place orders for the latest Mercedes crossover starting with November and first units are scheduled to be delivered in March 2014. The Mercedes-Benz GLA Edition 1 is based on the Urban Line trim level and it features, among others, simulated underguard and roof rails in chrome, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels finished in high-gloss black, tinted rear windows, black front grille with chrome inserts and black side mirrors.

According to the official press release, the Edition 1 will only be available in four colors: Cirrus White, Orient Brown Metallic, Mountain Grey Metallic and Designo Grey Metallic. Of course, since it’s a special edition we’re talking about, this version will stand out of the crown thanks to several “Edition 1” badges. The interior is available in the Desert Dust finish with brown leather seats with contrasting stitching, three-spoke sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, aluminum inserts and the Light & Sight package which includes ambient lighting and several additional illuminated elements such as the make-up mirror for the driver and front passenger, front and rear footwells, door sills and interior mirror.

As for powertrain options, customers of the new GLA Edition will be able to choose any of available engines, including the 154-hp petrol unit from the GLA 200, the 208-hp GLA 250 or diesel choices like the GLA 200 CDI (134-hp) and the GLA 220 CD (168-hp).
