Mini Paceman Adventure Pick-Up

After a few photos were leaked on the web, the British car manufacturer released an official set of images of the Paceman Adventure Pick-Up concept. Despite the car looking pretty good, Mini mentioned that they have no intentions of putting it into production and that it’s just a design study created by several young designers from Munchen and Dingolfing design centers.

The design students chose a Mini Paceman Cooper S ALL4 which they turned into a two-seater pick-up. To highlight the model’s “adventurous” character, they chose a military green paint finish and equipped the concept with a set of specific elements such as additional lights mounted on the roof, a snorkel for crossing water streams and a spare wheel placed on the roof also. The chassis has also been modified for off-road usage, the increased ride height and the model’s short wheelbase allowing it to attack steep slopes and hills. According to the British carmaker, the car would be perfect for gravel roads, mud and even sand.

Leaving aside the disappointment that this concept isn’t even considered for mass production, it’s really nice to see the future of BMW and Mini’s design departments looks great, with many talented designers aspiring to leave their mark on a legendary production model one day.
