2015 Cadillac Escalade

Earlier this week, during a sumptuous event that took place in New York, Cadillac has unveiled the fourth generation Escalade. Now, as sales debut get closer, we also got more details about the car and one of the most important news is that the popular American SUV will also be shipped to Europe.

However, it seems that Cadillac is really confident in how much European customers are attracted to American cars, because the Escalade won’t be cheap at all. According to General Motors, the basic version starts at 78,500 Euros ($106,000) in countries like France or Germany and can go as high as 131,150 Euros ($177,000) in countries with high taxes such as The Netherlands (the top version costs a whopping @226,300 over here). That’s almost twice than what the Escalade sells for in the United States, where it will be priced between $63,060 and $87,670. The price difference is mainly influenced by the large engine displacement of the Escalade which also translates into a higher level of CO2 emissions, which are heavily taxed throughout Europe.

The European-spec Escalade won’t be too different, being available with the same wheelbase and drivetrain options as its American sibling, including the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 that delivers 420-hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
