Nissan Pulsar Teaser

The Japenese carmaker has just released a teaser image of their upcoming compact which is scheduled to make debut this fall. The model marks the return of the Pulsar model name and according to Nissan, it will be a competitor for the Volkswagen Golf and the Ford Focus, which are some of the best selling models in Europe. So far we don’t know much about the upcoming hatchback, except for the fact that it will be built at the carmaker’s factory in Barcelona, Spain and that Nissan officials said about it that it had been “designed to meet the specific demands of European car buyers”, whatever that means.

The original Nissan Pulsar was introduced in 1978 and was mainly sold in Asia and Australia, but also exported to the United States and Europe. Five generations later, in 2000, it was phased out and the only market where Nissan offered a similar model in this segment was Japan, where the car manufacturer introduced the Nissan Sylphy in 2000, as a successor to the Pulsar. The only other hatchback offering from Nissan was the Almera, which was available on the European market, but production ended in 2006.
