Porsche Sales 2014

The German carmaker has recently released the preliminary sales results for the first five months of the year and things look great, with a 6% increase compared to the same time last year. Between January and May, Porsche sold a total number of 71,500 units, 16,500 only in May, which is 10% more than in May 2013.

The European market remains one of Porsche’s most important markets, with more than a third of all vehicles being sold over there, while the United States is second, with 19,000 cars sold in the first five months, 7% more than in 2013.

According to the German carmaker, the most popular model was the Panamera, whose sales increased by as much as 20% up to a total of 11,000 units, 2,000 of these being ordered in May. Besides the current lineup, Porsche is also heavily relying on the Macan to further increase sales, because the small SUV hasn’t been launched yet on all markets. Even so, the new model is already doing a great job in drawing in new customers, a survey by Porsche revealing that 60% of all Macan customers are at their first Porsche.
